Relais “Alla Corte del Sole” is situated in the wonderful Trasimeno Lake countryside, overlooking the historical town of Cortona, whose charm has been further popularized thanks to the words of Frances Mayes, a famous writer who described its unique beauty.

Amidst a large flower and olive tree filled garden you will be able to relax by the pool, or in the Orangerie, and savour one or indeed many of our resident chef’s dishes at L’Essenza (“The Essence”), our restaurant.

The ancient monastic village where the Relais takes shelter was skillfully restored in the exact manner of the original architecture. The 18 rooms we obtained from the buildings are furnished with antiques, paintings, rugs and curtains that give every room a unique atmosphere.

The Relais alla corte del sole is located on the border of Tuscany and Umbria, near Lago Trasimeno. Many cities of interest are located nearby. Montepulciano is about 17 km away, 20 minutes by car. Guests can take tours of the Chianti area, Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino.
